Introducing the Elevator Speed Governor
The Elevator Speed Governor is an essential safety device that
constantly monitors and controls the speed of the elevator car. In
the event of overspeed, it promptly sends a signal and triggers
mechanical actions to cut off the power supply, thereby activating
the traction mechanism. If the elevator fails to stop, the safety
clamp installed at the bottom of the car forcefully brings it to a
halt.
The speed governor acts as the command issuer, while the safety
clamp serves as the executor. It is their combined efforts that
ensure the safety of the elevator. The speed governor and safety
clamp work together to prevent accidents such as overspeed, loss of
control, or failure of the suspension system. When any of these
situations occur, the speed governor and safety clamp swiftly bring
the elevator car to a stop on the guide rails, maintaining it in a
stationary position. This prevents any potential harm to passengers
and damage to the equipment.

1. Are the elevator wire ropes durable?
The elevator wire rope has special provisions and requirements.

4. How the elevator running?
Elevators are operated with a counterweight wire rope through the
(tractor) traction drive, making ups and downs on the guide rail.
